Let’s say theoretically that you have a good friend who – because of age or illness – is nearing the end of his or her life.
One day, he or she asks if you – a woodworker they respect – would use your talent and skill to build them an urn to house their remains for their eternal rest.
Would you do it?

100% yes without a doubt. Matter of fact, it would be fun in a sad kinda way.
Just finshed building one last month. A friend and neighbor asked me to make his urn for future use. He is not ill or close to death but, he is 85 years old and likes my work and is planning ahead. It was an honor to do it for him.
I lost a very close friend a few months ago and wish now that I had had the time to have made one for him.
I’m planning on making one for myself and one for my wife in the near future.

There’s no greater honor than to be invited to walk with a friend on their final journey.
That would be a reason for “extra top notch” work !
No distractions, no interruptions, no excuses.
I would for sure. I’ve been involved with ALS causes since my father-in-law was diagnosed and died of it. As I’ve been around others who have suffered the same disease I’ve learned how to appreciate life and accept death. It sucks no matter what but it’s the circle of life and if I can do something to honor that persons life I would be happy to do it.
