Antique chestnut. Does brass count. Really don’t care for just wood pieces. Embellishing with patinated brass really works nicely. Plus I can use most woodworking tools to machine the brass.
My favorite flavor right now would have to be butternut. It gives off a wonderfull look when finished with oil. It machines easy and does not weigh a ton.

Dogwood. That is, if it is old enough to have colour in it. I’m extremely surprised that Red Oak is more popular so far than White Oak.
