Quick Poll

OK, it’s 1 p.m. here on a great Sunday in Florida…

I have gorgeous weather. I have a list of things I need to get done…

And, I’m still inside, puttering around the house.

This week, tell us if you ever have trouble getting a shop session started.  Are you always full of energy, ready to pop out into the shop for a great session, or do you have issues getting started?

  1. It was a beautiful day in Alabama with rain coming, I had a decision to make: start my next project or get the leaves up. The project had to wait. At times I can get a little apprehensive about a new project. My next project has to do with crown molding and I am not sure I am going to like it. Good topic.

  2. I’m kind of like Jeff above.
If I have a “to-do” thing I need to get done; I have to do it.

But then, when the deck is pretty much cleared, look out !
I was making a noisy, dusty, stuff everywhere, kind of mess out there yesterday, and loving it !
As you know, living in Florida, this is some awesome workshop weather!

  3. Tom,
I’m not sure of which your trying to poll: My ability to get to the shop or my desire and mindset to do so.

The answer to the first question is that there are many, many responsibilities that must come first, and I only get a few hours per week of shop time, usually late at night.

The answer to the second is that I’m almost always ready to get into the shop. This passed weekend, I didn’t head to the shop until about 9:30. I could just as easily have gone to bed and been asleep by 9:45. Instead I was in the shop until 1:00 am without any struggle.
