Hey, Ethan - nothing particular to drool over. Believe me, a decade of collecting tools will produce similar results! :D

Hey Tom,

Thank god for solid core exterior door, eh? Hopefully, sometime next week I'll have my shop a bit more organized and post pics showing all the door benches I have. Hey, they work until I have the time or funds to build cabinets and my Roubo.
Speaking of, check out Jameel's Roubo...Sweet http://oudluthier.blogspot.com/2008/07/bench-3-finis.html

Oh, Mattias, you flatter me!

Nah, I have a big ugly former front door mounted to a 2 x 4 frame. It's the thing with the vise on it, and the spindle sander underneath.

I wrote an article about my bench a while ago... here it is:

Ya know, I don't have the heart to replace it yet... Maybe one day with a Roubo... One day....

Hi Tom, That's a nice workshop! This might be a stupid question, but I don't see the workbench? (I mean the one you have in the "welcome to..." photo header for the website.) You have always come off as a guy who would have a Roubo.

David -

I'm glad you like the blog. Don't be a stranger - come on back anytime!

Dust collection in my shop usually involves running the hose from the DC or the shop vac to each tool. Some judicious use of duct tape and other means allows me to basically hook up to any tool I want to. Piece of cake that way.

Great shop Tom, thanks for sharing. How do you handle dust collection, do you connect each tool as you use it (table saw, band saw etc), if so, what do you use ?

Really like your blog.
